Ski towns where you can actually work remotely
Fast internet, real coworking, and first chair before your 9am call.
Ski towns used to mean seasonal jobs and long drives to anywhere else. Now plenty of people log in from a condo with the slopes out the window, and some towns have grown around them.
Three things matter most. First, reliable home internet: ask sellers or landlords which providers serve the exact address, because service can change from one street to the next in the mountains. Second, a coworking space or library for the days the cabin feels small. Third, an airport within a couple of hours for the trips your job still needs.
On Pinned, Bend, Denver and Canmore all have quick access to skiing and an airport within about 90 minutes, and Bend and Denver are tagged as remote-work hubs. Park City is a short drive from a major airport, which matters if you travel often.
Think about the shoulder seasons too. Spring and late fall can be quiet, muddy and grey in ski towns. If you love biking, hiking or lake days, pick a place that has a good summer as well as a good winter.
